- For apartments complexes or commercial installations that require a large number of remotes to be programmed to a single door or gate, there are a variety of ways to program the 371LM into your system. However, for the average homeowner, programming is simple and easy.

If this is the first time that you are going to be programming your opener or if you would like to erase all previous remotes, simply hold down the purple learn button on the back of your Liftmaster logic board for 30 seconds until the light stays steady. Within 30 seconds after doing this, press the button on the remote that you wish to use to open your garage door or gate.

If you have multiple remotes that you would like to program to the same opener, you will follow the steps outlined above. However, after the first remote, you will only momentarily hold down the learn button.

How do I know if the Liftmaster 371LM remote is compatable with my garage door opener?

The most surefire way to find out if your remote is compatible is to look for the learn button on the back of your garage door opener. The purple learn button (pictured) is the color that indicates compatibility with the Liftmaster 371LM. Other colors such as red or green will not be compatible without additional equipment. If you are not able to view your learn button, you can simply identify the model of an existing remote. If a remote of the same series works with your opener, then the 371LM remote will as well. To find your model number, look on the back of your garage door remote, keychain, or keypad. There will be a two or three digit number followed by a “LM”. If your remote says 371LM, 372LM, 373LM, 370LM, 376LM, or 377LM then your system is compatible with the Liftmaster 371LM remote. The same holds true for models 373W or 373P.

The keychain style remote that is compatible with this series is the Liftmaster 370LM keychain remote. If you have two garage doors that you would like to open with one remote, then you can order Liftmaster model 372LM.

The three button remote of this frequency is 373LM. Liftmaster’s premium model of garage door remote is called the 373P. This remote is made with a faux leather grip and backlit buttons that sense the proximity of your hands.

The wireless keypad is model 376LM and the biometric keypad is 377LM.
